patches?

12 Jun 2013, 15:47

I've been told by my server company that I should be checking for patches for all 3rd party products that I have installed. They only one that I really have is ISAPI_Rewrite 3.0.

So, my question is.... is there any updated that I need to perform or do I just need to wait for ISAPI_Rewrite 4.0 to come out before I need to update?

Is there a page on your site that notifies me of any bug reports of fixes to the current version that are taking place?

Cheers

Hello,

We're releasing new builds quite often, so you should keep an eye for the number of the builds.
Here you can find the latest build - http://www.helicontech.com/download-isapi_rewrite3.htm
Here you'll find the information regarding fixes - http://www.helicontech.com/isapi_rewrite/doc/ChangeLog.htm

In order to update to the latest release, I take it I just install the .exe file to the server?

Will my key remain once reinstalled?
I take it this will take the websites using modrewrite offline while the install takes place?
Does windows require a restart once reintalled?

Cheers

Yes. However, if the difference in release numbers is big(e.g. you have 89 and the lates is 99), than we'd suggest uninstalling old version and installing new.

the key is stored in httpd.conf. We'd suggest you simply back it up before uninstalling old version.

No, you don't have to reboot. The very maximum would be to do iisreset or recycle the pool.
