Urgent - All rules stopped working overnight

Hi,

Okay this is very very strange.

I went to bed last night and the site was working fine, this morning however all rules on our site are completely dead and result in 404 errors.

All our other sites are working fine.

They are all on the same server and have been running fine on it for at least the last 18 months.

I've just paused all our adwords campaigns as this is very serious for us.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Are there any errors in Windows Application Event log?
Do other sites on your server use ISAPI_Rewrite?
Please also check ISAPI_Rewrite error.log in ISAPI_Rewrite installation folder.

Thanks for getting back to me.

That is the strangest thing of this. We have it set up on other sites on the server (4) and they all work perfectly.

There aren't any errors in log files so nothing to trace.

It's very frustrating as you can imagine.

Please specify what Windows version you are using.
Were there any changes to the metabase? Were there any recent changes on the server in general?
Please check if there are sufficient permissions to read the .dll and httpd.conf. You can compare the permissions with the working sites.

We are using windows 2008 (I think) and there have been no changes to the server.

With the permissions, how would I go about doing that?

First, please consider using Failed Request Tracing Tool in IIS to try figure out why ISAPI_Rewrite didn't load.
If it doesn't help, we need either RDC access or online meeting to see the situation live and try fix it.

We've tried the failed request tool, but no joy as it didn't create a file.

It is very strange and our hosts are practically useless.
