Rewrite version 2 on IIS7.5?

I've been using ISAPI Rewrite version 2 on Server 2003/IIS6 for at least 6 years. It's been perfect for me. I'm migrating to a new hosting company and the new server runs 2008R2/IIS7.5.

Is there any way to manually install Rewrite version 2 in a 32 bit worker process using Classic pipeline mode on IIS7.5? I'd rather not have to rewrite all my rules and learn a new syntax just to make the hosting move.

If this is not an option, how difficult is it to 'translate' version 2 rulesets to Rewrite version 3 rules?

I did find another post here on the support forum that pointed me in the direction of the vista manual installation package. I have Rewrite version 2 operating on a Classic ASP site in IIS7.5 now.

I am however curious, just because it appears to "work" in a test mode does it mean it should work well in a production mode too handling a few hundred requests per second?

I'm not against upgrading to Ape or something along those lines, I just don't want to have to manually rewrite my rules for a few dozen sites.

It will work just fine on the production. You are not the only one to use ISAPI_Rewrite 2 on IIS7.5.

Hello.

I'm working for a host provider, and one of my customer needs to run Rewrite 2.0 on a new Windows 2008R2 Server (his website was on a windows 2003).
It doesn't work, and I don't know why. After running a FREB dump, there is no reference of Helicon Rewrite module in the Compact View, like if it was not loaded at all (and I don't know why or what to do).

Here is what I did to install it:
- Installation made with admin rights
- in IIS7, on the server level :
1) ISAPI Filters, there is one entry with executable "C:\Program Files\Helicon\ISAPI_Rewrite\\ISAPI_Rewrite.dll"
2) ISAPI & CGI Restrictions, I added "C:\Program Files\Helicon\ISAPI_Rewrite\ISAPI_Rewrite.dll" with the execution right enabled
3) Handler Mappings, I clicked on "Edit feature permissions", ticked "Execute" permission and OK.

Problem Solved.
In the Advanced Settings of the Application Pool of the website, the "Enable 32Bits Apps" was True (don't know why). I set it to false.
