rails initialization process

04 Nov 2015, 10:59

Hello.

We have the problem that every morning (and some times over the day) our ruby on rails app in HeliconZOO is restarting and so we have to wait for the whole initialization process of the rails app until we get the first page.

Is there any possibility to store or cache the loaded classes and configuration to get a faster loading time? Or to avoid restarting the whole thing?

Regards
Irene

Is it really restarting?
I think you mean the iis idle timeout.
You can configure it in the settings in IIS Manager.
Also you could try to change the action on Timeout.

Hope that Helps.

Thank you.
It is really restarting, i know since i've logged the loading of application.rb-file.
I increased the idle timeout, but how can i Change the action on timeout?

I just saw that it seems to be not possible in all versions.
At my installation at home i can do it, at work not.
At Home there is a select box right next to the timeout called "action on idle" or something like that (sorry my one is in german ;) )
