Zoo with Azure

16 May 2012, 14:36

I'm trying to get Python/Django working on Azure (with MongoDB in a separate role). I would like to use WebPICMD (or WebPICMDLine) to install Zoo in a startup task, but it keeps failing, apparently on Python27_setuptools. It works perfectly on Windows 7 - any reason why it wouldn't work inside an Azure instance?

I just noticed that some things get installed into c:\python27 and some into d:\python27. I wonder if that's relevant.

I manually installed Python 2.7.3 to c:\python27 (d:\python27 was default), and everything except Twisted installed (for Python_Modules "Python Hosting Package").

You may find this link useful for what you ask: https://github.com/michiya/heliconzoo-django-role
We have not tested this solution, but I hope the scripts available there may give you some hint.
