What's impact of many rules (> 2000)

Hello,

On one of our website, we write more than 2200 rules in http.conf (90% of 301 redirect).

Are the rewrite module performance really impacted ?

Hello,

That's actually quite a lot and we generally do not recommend more than 150-200 rules.
However if you cannot shorten the config (usually with the help of mapfiles), it mostly depend on your server performance, which is quite individual.
You can test it and if there's no dramatic performance slump, you can leave it as is.

Is it possible to have it on groups like 200 rules per group and then have all group work?
