Password protect folders
Ive had a htaccess file for a while doing redirects, we now want to add a new subfolder and content which needs to be password protected while its being looked at. I have added a .htaccess file in the subfolder but its not bringing up the password dialogue.
If I install ape it all works so I know the files are corredct. Do I really need to install APE to get this to work? My clients dont want to install anything which is not needed.

Re: Password protect folders
Hello,
that is probably because ISAPI_Rewrite does not do authorization, while Ape does.
Here's a list of ISAPI_Rewrite directives.
Please, make sure you do not run ISAPI_Rewrite and Ape at the same time
Regards
Andrew
