Linkfreeze on Windows 2008 Server 64 Bit

Hi guys,

I own a number of licenses for Linkfreeze, for development and a two-site license we ran in production on Windows 2003 Server since probably 2005. Linkfreeze worked flawlessly and helped us with SEO with a very low overhead.

We are now moving to a 64 bit Windows 2008 Server. Our hosting company support installed Linkfreeze 64 bit component, but it isn't working on the site. It shows up in IIS as an ISAPI filter (along with ISAPI_Rewrite components. I also see HTTP_X_REWRITE_URL http header added (not sure as it may be from ISAPI_Rewrite and not from Linkfreeze). But URLs don't get converted or recognized.

My Linkfreeze configuration converts ? and & to dashes, "-".

I need your help, please.

I wrote several emails to support that weren't answered. Hope I'll get an answer here.

Sorry for e-mail, it seem to work fine, however I have not received any e-mails to [email protected] from you recently.

LinkFreeze is old product and not supported on Windows 2008. On a newer system you can install Helicon Ape product that include same functions plus many more: https://www.helicontech.com/ape/
The LinkFreeze functions are implemented as mod_linkfreeze in Ape: https://www.helicontech.com/ape/doc/mod_linkfreeze.htm
Same as ISAPI_Rewrite functions are implemented as mod_rewrite: https://www.helicontech.com/ape/doc/mod_rewrite.htm
Though ISAPI_Rewrite can run on Windows 2008 system it is not recommended to install ISAPI_Rewrite and Ape on same server as they are both use .htaccess files as configuration, thus may conflict with some rules.

Good idea, we'll remove ISAPI_Rewrite and Linkfreeze, and try Ape. Would we have to pay for new licenses , since it's a new software? I own 2 separate, and a 2-site licenses of Linkfreeze.

I also noticed that Ape's mod_linkfreeze rules are simple. my hosting server support team hasn't been able to make it work as Linkfreeze, but we'll give it another shot.

As far as mod_rewrite, is it easy to duplicate ISAPI_Rewrite rules? Just point me to a topic or forum post, please, that I can email to support.

I also own two licenses of ISAPI_Rewrite, 2.2 and 2.6. Can I upgrade that to Ape? Looks like the only upgrade price is for 3.0

Hello.

I see you are using ISAPI_Rewrite version 2 which has old rule syntax. These rules need to be updated before using in Ape.
Please send both your ISAPI_Rewrite and LinkFreeze configuration files to the support e-mail [email protected] for review.

You can also send some information about your previous orders, so I could find them. I then can upgrade your ISAPI_Rewrite 2 license to version 3 license for free so you can purchase upgrade from third version to Ape.

Yaroslav, I'm Alex, I just emailed a lengthy, detailed message to support, with several attachments.

Main problem is that we can't make Ape's mod_linkfreeze load pages with already converted URLs on our largest site. We figured out how to convert URLs from ?=& to dashes, but not how to make Ape auto-convert loading pages.

Our Linkfreeze rule is:

This is where I'm stuck, it isn't working completely. All links on the pages are still using old style &?=

My ISAPI_Rewrite rules are simple, I don't use it beyond basic. Examples:

k, I just did.

I also sent a copy from my business address. check your spam folder, domain I've sent original emails from is commonly blocked by Eastern European email spam blocking systems.
