Technical information

HotlinkBlocker consist of two components – ISAPI filter and MMC snap-in extension. ISAPI filter is a fast DLL module written in pure C++. While installing HotlinkBlocker MMC snap-in will be registered automatically. ISAPI filter will be installed later for each site separately when you enable HotlinkBlocker for a site. A copy of ISAPI filter DLL file will be created for each site where HotlinkBlocker is enabled. This is done to solve problem with multiple DLL loads in Windows 2000 or earlier versions of Windows.

HotlinkBlocker filter is fast enough to not to worry about performance. Usually maximum bandwidth degradation will be less than 1%.
